I think that she would appreciate an apology if you feel like she deserves one. If you behaved badly or divulged private and personal information or hurt her physically or emotionally during your relationship and break up then you should definitely acknowledge what you did, that it was wrong and you are deeply sorry. You should write a brief note (sent by snail mail), explaining what you see now as your mistakes and apologize. By doing this you will grow as a person.
