My first was attempting to use around 2, 2 1/2. It didn't last long, and went back to a diaper. Just before he turned three, he took off his own diaper, and NEVER needed it again. My middle child just turned two in Feb, and we have tried two times with her., the first around 18 mo, then again around 24. She SEEMS ready, but she's not quite there yet. We will try again with her in a few more months. So that is my own experience. Hope that helps...
