well when a guy takes you out for a date or rather buys you flowers ..the best comlipment one can ever give is look him into the eye , smile and say thank you.

You could comment on the way he looks, or dresses, or on his good taste...in other words, things that attract you to him. Don't make up compliments; if you like him enough to want to compliment him there must be a few things you like about him. Make a list for yourself, and when you're with him, think of what you've listed, and tell him that you like that about him.

Don't overdo it: a couple of compliments are fine, more could become embarrassing.

Don't expect compliments in return. Especially don't follow up by asking him what things he likes about you!

Take good notice of how he reacts when you compliment him: you'll know straight away if you've said the right thing.

Above all, just be friendly, and be yourself. Probably the best compliment you can pay to anyone is to encourage them to talk about themselves, and really, really listen.
