• There are different types of emotional affairs. A man can fantasize about an attractive woman without that woman ever knowing, or, he can become friends with her and not be physically interactive with her, but emotionally attached to her. Emotional affairs are often just fantasies and nothing more and it is common in both men and women or, something is missing out of his marriage and he may innocently talk to another woman about his marriage problems when he should be talking to his wife. 'Just look, do not touch' is the rule. Men may love their wife, but it is common for them to either look at pornography or admire a good looking woman, but the same goes for women and they will admire a good looking man and some women enjoy pornography along with their partner. This is by no means a suggestion that you watch pornography with your husband if it makes you feel uncomfortable. Communication is the key to a successful relationship. Both of you should sit down and talk this problem over. Give your husband the opportunity to express his feelings and you should listen without getting into an argument and then he should listen to how much he has hurt you. Once you have that out of the way then you have to decide if you want to stay together or not and if you do, then you should seek marriage counseling if you afford it. If you cannot afford it then you can both put your heads together and make a list of things you like and do not like about each other and try to change some of the dislikes. Also, if possible, a change of scenery such as going on a short or long vacation just the two of you will bring you closer to each other. Often husband and wife are so busy working; looking after children and worrying about finances that they forget about each others feelings.
