What are the qualities of a good citizen to enter a public services?

A good citizen is someone who participates in their civic responsibilities (i.e. voting and volunteering); a good citizen also takes personal responsibility for obligations to family and the community.

There are many characteristics needed to be a good citizen.

For example

-Friendly- Smiles at others, and tries to help if needed.

-Selfless- Puts others before themselves.

-Caring- Helps others in need.

-Polite- Doesn't use bad language.

-Hardworking- works hard to achieve their goals.

-Grateful- Is thankful for what they have in life.

-Respect- Understanding of others believes.

-Open- Willing to work, make things better, volunteer, etc...

-Grateful-Appreciates their opportunities and the things they were blessed with

A good citizen is one who properly fulfils his/her role as a citizen. They should try to work for a living to pay taxes to help the system of society.

A good citizen should show respect towards others, be it towards the government, public service or other citizens if they have different views or believes than you.

There are many opinions as to what makes a good citizen, but respect is one of the most necessary qualities for a citizen, it helps us understand levels of authority, other cultures and helps us become better people.

These skills are necessary to join the public service because in all manner of public service you need to deal with civilians so being courteous, respectful, hardworking, polite and caring are demanded of you in all public service.
