What do I do about my husband treating me like I am a child?

I think that you should confront your husband, have him take notice that he treats you like a child. Maybe he doesn't mean to do it. Or, maybe he thinks that it is his way of showing you that he is very sweet to you. If you really don't like it, and it seems as if over time he hasn't stopped then I would see a marriage counselor. Don't think about divorce just yet, think about finding a solution that could lead to you saving your marriage.

Or, maybe, just maybe, he treats you like a child because you are acting like a child. Think about it. Talk to him.

• Your problems most likely started a long time ago when you first met. Some women may act sweet, innocent (and may be) and give off the impression of an innocent little girl and therefore her partner feels the need to protect her like a child. You need to show your husband you are not a little girl by communicating it to him (discussing it.) You are in control of your life even though you are married so start being a little more independent by perhaps getting a job (if you don't have one) taking extra courses to improve your education or help towards a career; do volunteer work; go out with girlfriends more; be aware of what your husband is interested in and research it on the internet (example: sports; literature or even his line of work.) Take control and show him you are a grown woman and not his little girl. The ball is in your court.
