Something I always remind myself when I'm feeling down on myself is that I made the best decision that i could at the time, given the emotional state I was in, the experience I had at the time, and that I learned from the mistake and will make a better decision from the experience. Then I forgive myself and remember that everyone makes mistakes so you need to forgive yourself and get on with life, it won't be the first or last time someone makes the exact same mistake you made, right!
