A good sleepover host makes everyone comfortable.
- Make sure the house is clean and presentable.
- Provide accurate instructions to your house if you are expecting guests to arrive on their own.
- Specify what they will need to bring. (Will they need swim suits? They're favorite game or movie? A snack to share?)
- Have a variety of drinks and snacks to insure no one will go hungry
- Remember that they'll need breakfast in the morning too. Cereal, pancakes, and waffles are always good.
- Make sure to have many blankets, sleeping bags, pillows, or an air mattress for guests to sleep on. If you do not have many, ask that they bring their own.
- Have different kinds of movies and games, so that all guests have something they'll like to do.
- You may want to plan some kind of fun activity, which will depend on the ages of the kids, the gender of the kids, time of year, etc. Some Activities Could Include:
- Tie-Dying
- Pumpkin Carving
- Making cookies, cupcakes, or smoothies
- Or an outside activity (sport, swimming, water balloons, walking, sledding, trampoline)
- IMPORTANT: Always know these things PRIOR to the sleepover:
- What time the child must return home, and who will be picking them up?
- Is the child allergic to anything?
- Do the children take any medicines?
- Are there certain movies/TV shows/games that the child can not watch/play?
- Is it possible the child might have separation issues? (If the child is young.)
- Any other special concerns you should have?
