Stand up to your parents, you'll feel better and your parent's will understand. Remember to have the boy with you when you did it, and have a good reason for why you guy's should be together. 'Standing up' is a bad choice of words. The last thing you need is confrontation. If you think you are stubborn, there's two of them and they have years more practice. But there is no single , your relationship with your parents is uniquely yours. Just remember they will always be there for you, when it goes right and when it goes wrong. So, with an open mind, open ears and open heart, listen to your parents' reasons for objection and then, rationally, ease their fears. And tread softly, for it is their hearts and their dreams that you are walking on. It's never easy, we all, including your parents, have been there before. It's only natural they want to protect you from the big bad world, rogues and rascals. They have seen the mistakes they made and their friends made and they really don't want for you to learn that way. What will convince them that you are getting into a good relationship, is the way you and he have conducted your lives so far and the respect you have for yourself and the respect that he has for you. Its really up to him to make your parents understand, not you.
