The most likely origin I could come up with of this rare English surname Hoing, which is not related to the German Hoing I believe, is that it is a variant of the English surname Hine. The English surname Hing is also of the same origin as Hoing, both Hing and Hoing being related, but there is also a second origin of Hing, that being a variant of the English surname Hinge, a surname from Kent and Gloucestershire of uncertain origin. The English surname Hing is found abundant in Buckinghamshire, same with Hoing except that Hoing is mostly found in Buckinghamshire. This means that both Hing and Hoing, especially from Buckinghamshire, are variants of eachother and both are variants of the English surname Hine, which means, "lad, servant", from Middle English hine.
