depending on your point of view, soulmates are people that are "made" for each other, and have been together through the ages - i.e their souls have always been together, even in past lives, and they are connected not just emotionally, or physically but spiritually too.

You will have a very strong connection to that person and really don't even know why at first. You feel like you have known them for a long time. You feel very strong love, bonding, respect, etc. toward that person. It is love but on a much higher level - nothing superficial at all. It is hard to explain but if you ever meet your soul mate you will definitely know it. Maybe not at the instant that you meet him or her but shortly thereafter. You won't know what hit you at first.
