Yes! Living apart from your friends doesn't have to mean that you lose touch with them. In fact, in some cases, your friendship can grow stronger because you are forced to prioritize the relationship and take conscientious steps to stay in touch. I have found this to be true of my close friends after I moved out of the city we all lived in. However, it doesn't happen accidentally; you have to make the effort. I like to talk on the phone with my closest friends about once a week and I don't multi-task while talking. We also visit each other at least once a year.
