You should go to the doctors and get them x-rayed. It might mean that you broke a rib, or if not you might have damaged it. It is better safe then sorry. If you didn't do something to your actual rib then you might have some sort of internal damage. Where you in some kind of accident? You also might have some kind of internal organ failure.

No there is no such thing, but it is possible to get certain dysfunctions in your ribs. (Broken, bruised, dislocation, etc.)
