What is respect from the elders?

If I were a US representative or US senator, I'd invent that kind of law because those "old" people suffered a demanding life while they were young. Do you even respect your parents? Obviously, you've got to! Same thing with what you mentioned. What I mean with elders is normally not someone in the 35-55 age range, for example, but those in the 60-100 and beyond range. When I become an elderly citizen, I WILL demand respect after all those years of demanding childhood. All I know is that in Britain it is a law that you must respect senior citizens, but here to be honest I don't know if they passed that law yet or if they ever will.

What is the percentage of crimes that's committed do to a lack of respect?

Zero. A crime is breaking a law and has nothing to do with respect. If it does it is an excuse to break the law. Respect or lack of is a byproduct of actions taken by an individual not a reason.
