- You made a very bad choice by letting your boyfriend down by cheating and you have not only hurt him, but also the girlfriend of the boy you cheated with. That being said, the girlfriend's boyfriend should be taking some of the animosity for the whole mess of cheating. If you are being physically threatened then let your parents know and go to the police. Hopefully you have learned from your mistake and will not cheat with someone else's boyfriend again. There are always unpleasant consequences when someone does something they know is wrong.

The age of consent in Texas is 17 {Texas Penal Code Section 21.11}. To my knowledge there is no law that regulates what is considered boyfriend and girlfriend. Good for them that they enjoy being together and that no sex is involved. After all, sex is not a prerequisite to friendship (or any other thing, except for having a child).

If you don't know the guy then you shouldn't rush into the relationship. Only get involved with him if you're comfortable being around him and truly want to be with him. DON'T be his girlfriend merely for the joy of saying that you have a boyfriend. My advice? Get to know him better and learn more about him.
