Well what you do is, you get a time machine and go back in time before you made that stupid and immature joke without thinking about the obvious consequences.
This girl's feelings really don't deserve to be hurt, but I'm pretty sure they're going to be.
I'm thinking in the nicest way possible tell her that you've made a mistake, or that you don't feel you can see anyone at the moment because that'll let her down gently, but on the other hand I'm thinking she deserves to know you were playing a childish prank, even though the truth may very well hurt her.

Ugh i hate it when boys say dont know. When they say that its sometimes because there shy. There scared of showing there true feelings. In year 9 i asked this boy out, We was flirting alot and i just came out and asked. He goes oh i dont know and never told me the answer. Well think of it like this, if you like her.. then the relationship has already changed. If your feelings are so big that you don't see her in the same way anymore, you should let her know your feelings. Its unfair to the both of you, if you keep your feelings to yourself.
