Most old people usually go to bed early and arise early, because they've spent their entire lives doing that. They've gotten so accustomed to doing such, and their brains automatically wake them up at an early time.

Not to mention after a certain age, many older people's bodies are pretty equivalent to that of a babies, meaning, they aren't as strong as a younger person is. There body needs the rest in order to maintain a relatively healthy state.
