In the South Korean television series "The Bride of Habaek," the character Habaek, who is a water god, has a romantic relationship with a character named So-ah, played by Shin Se-kyung. So-ah is a human woman who becomes involved with Habaek as he navigates the human world and his divine responsibilities. Their relationship is central to the plot, exploring themes of love and sacrifice amidst supernatural elements.
Ch.1-84: Habaek (the water god) finds out that the Nakbin (his first love) is alive but he loves Soah(a very pretty girl who's dad sold her for money and her village offered her to Habaek). However, this person isn't actually Nakbin, she's actually a human named Yeowa that looks like Nakbin and wants to pretend to be Habaek's lover (but we'll still refer to her as Nakbin)So basically, Nakbin got rid of Habaek's memories and gets another person(sorry forgot name) to look like Habaek and make Soah jealous. It's successful and makes Soah cry and go to Hooye (Nakbin's brother/emperor's kid/Habaek's ex-servant/someone in love with Soah) so Hoyee takes Soah to some where and Soah meets Hooye's father and his father takes her to the The Imperial Country. The emperor (Hooye's father) throws a party and invites Habaek and his bride(it's suppose to be Soah but because Habaek lost his memories it's Nakbin) to enjoy the banquet. The emperor also introduces Soah as Hooye's fiancee and has her dance during the banquet. Then detailed stuff happens( nothing bad its just i don't want to get in that much detail). The emperor revives the real Nakbin and they kill the Yeowa, the fake Nakbin. Afterwards, Ban Chun Geun (Wind God/emperor's enemy/Habaek's ally) takes Soah to the Moon Palace so she would be safe from everything that's going on at the Imperial Country. Soah then ends up meeting Habaek's dad and Habaek has a flash back of how he met Nakbin. He remembers how she hurt his eye and said she will never undo the curse no matter how many times she is born. More stuff happens. Habaek goes to the Moon Palace to get Soah because it is revealed that he didn't actually lose his memories and that he was just pretending that he did. She is made at him and she won't go back with him to the water kingdom so Ban Chun Geun tricks Soah and makes her go on a boat ride with Habaek and Soah and Habaek sort things out. Then Habaek faints and Soah puts him in a bed in the Moon Palace and learns the more Habaek stays at the Moon Palace the more his power goes. Also Habaek doesn't believe that the guy Soah meets is his dad because he belives his dad has been dead for thousands of years. So Habaek gets better and the Habaeks dad comes in the room and says he won't let Habaek meet a lord or something until Soah and Habaek get married in the Moon Palace that's it until chapter 85 comes out. Sry if my stuffs a little or a lot off haven't read it in forever...
In the finale of "Bride of the Water God," the main characters, So-ah and Habaek, confront their feelings and the challenges posed by their different worlds. So-ah ultimately accepts her role and the sacrifices it entails, while Habaek acknowledges his love for her and the responsibilities of a water god. The story concludes with a bittersweet resolution, where both characters find peace in their choices, despite the complexities of their relationship. The themes of love, duty, and sacrifice resonate as they embrace their destinies.
