Modern society tends to promote the exclusion of caring adults from direct involvement in the social/peer-life of teenagers and children, while for example in traditional hunter-gatherer villages children and teenagers their social lifes are more integrated in the social structure of the village and are also for example thereby less dependent on things like acceptance of peer-groups. Also makes the vastness and complexity of modern human society our world harder, less predictable, less transparent and more stressfull then in previous times. Thereby lengthening and steepening the learning curve for teenagers to becoming able to cope with their social life. Therefor my opinion is that people that obstruct or enforce norms that obstruct the correct direct involvement of adults in the social lifes of teenagers or obstruct efforts to enlarge the general support by adults of young teenagers emotional, social and personality development, or the most to blame. Other things that are to blame for individual teen social problems, are the parenting-style, insecure attachment, the environment the children/teenagers grow up and simply bad luck.
