Why do adoptive parents abuse their children?

Because they were abused themselves as kids. Abuse is all what they know, so they continue the same actions on their kids. How are they supposed to love their kids when their own parents couldn't even love them? Chances are the man who beats his kid was beaten himself by his own father. The uncle who molests his niece probably was also molested by another older family member. Also, it gives the parent a chance to be in power, instead of being a helpless victim when they were a child. If parents realize this cycle, maybe they can help themselves to stop the abuse and not follow in their own abusive parents' footsteps.

Most parents abuse their children because they were treated the same way as a child or worse,they feel like they have to take it out on someone,and some of them feel that maybe that's the way to raise they're kids since that's how they're parents raised them which is'nt right. The parents feel hurt and like their not worth anything because of what their parents did to them,like they weren't loved but that still doen't give them the right to hit their children. Im just thinking that these are a few of the reasons why parents abuse their children,most of it has to do with personal issues from their past and they dont know how to deal with it.

This is a rarity; not common. Lately, in the news, there was a study that found that families have behaviors in common--not just limited to gestures, phrases or rates of learning. An adopted child comes from another family type and may have issues related to that biological behavior from the two families. Certainly, integrating the child at whatever age, does take patience and mentoring.
