Why do boys act differently in front of there friends?

Well it's probably because he just wants to look cool/tough or just not look like a sissy, it's a gender thing, men need to have their pride, although there is more pride telling the truth or doing the right thing in front of their friends than 'acting differently'.

They are insecure and are afraid they can't be their true selves with their friends. Not all people are like this though. Though on the other side being with other males might make that a bit more... testosterone filled, and foolish. and when there alone there most calm and quiet.

---- The reason for this, however, is because of peer pressure. Naturally, somebody who wants to "fit in" can't do some of what he/she does, as they are afraid of possibly embarrassing themselves.

If you think about it, all people tend to act differently around certain people. It's funny, because in my Youth group, you can see the attitudes change when the youth pastor enters the room. You can take this into consideration, and if you don't like this about guys, or people in general, notice when YOU are doing this, and try not to be that way... be genuine!
