cuz if u like a girl then u will like the comfort u get out of hugging her but don't do it to often or else it will become a normal thing instead try hugging her from behind and grab her waist if done correctly the girl will enjoy it if not then don't panic it was just a hug

I think they do because it makes them feel safe, wanted, warm, and lovable, and honestly what girl doesn't want that.
