Why do good guys cheat?

It's called temptation, and all of us must be careful and develop self-control. It's a matter of not putting yourself in a position where opportunity gives way to action. The right time, the right place, under the right circumstances, any one of us could make that mistake. That being said, I have always been perplexed on how one should handle a situation where one partner cheats on another. Whether right or wrong, I just feel if he did it once, the chances of it happening again are that much greater. Can you live with that? Relationships are - in part- based on trust. Once that trust has been compromised, it's very difficult to wholeheartedly trust again. It's like a broken vase, no matter how well you glue it back together again, it's just never the same, and all it takes is one small tap for it to break it again. You can forgive, but it will be very difficult to forget. Once again, can you live with that?
