A lot of toddlers have temper tantrums as this is the only way they know how to get what they want. To stop your toddler have bad temper tantrums you can not give in to their every whim because what they are doing is testing you. If they have a tantrum and get what the want in the end they think this is what they have to do to get what they want. If you don't give them what they want for a while and then eventually give in, they just think that now they most throw out a bigger, longer tantrum to get what they want. When your toddler starts a tantrum you must let it run it course for a while, soon they will realise the tantrums do not get them what they want and they will try other methods - hopefully much more nicer ways.
No just give them what they want
Kids argue/disobey their parents because they can. They will push you to see what they can get away with. If you don't allow them to do so, they'll stop.
There is no statistical information for that, though, you can help bring whatever that number is down.
