- *i cant find any sources on my the subject, so the following is bases on observation and opinion* I believe it came the Victorian era in Great Britain and it suppose to convey the idea of a man showing inferiority to his would be spouse, i believe it states "Without you i am nothing, or My love for you makes me weak and i need you to make me strong." However as stated this is a theory on observation, and no actual fact.
On one knee.
Your left knee.
He knelt on one knee to propose to her. He tried to propose a compromise, but they wanted nothing to do with it.
The old-fashioned way is getting down on one knee.
I'm not too sure to be honest
You get down on one knee, present a ring and say, "Will you marry me?"
get on your knee.
Proposing is a way of letting a girl know you want to spend your life with her. Do something unique for a proposal! Or, try doing it the "traditional way", on a date, bend down on one knee, and propose. Make sure you want to, it's a HUGE decision. <3 <3 <3
Generally when he gets down on one knee and pulls out a diamond ring....
This one really depends on the context. 'Propose' as in marriage: fire the question, get down on one knee, pop the question, ask for (his/her) hand in marriage. 'Propose' as in suggest: Suggest, put forward, advise, proposition, recommend, urge. There are also other contexts that 'propose' can be used in, these other contexts have synonyms of their own.
To propose a girl simply go to her and tell her that you like her. Tell her why you feel so and why you want to get committed. She will think about it and will tell you what she feels about it.
While she is staring at the ring you just offered her, she will not notice which knee you got down on. It doesn't matter.
