To be honest I've learned in my progressive relationship that most men over react due to the fact that it is so much simpler to make assumptions regardless of the situation. They may use excuses for their outbursts such as "I have enough stress in my life already" or "I will leave you" all the way too "you did it to yourself" or "hows it my problem anyways". Boys will never understand the entire concept of why women need them to be attentive listeners, without the male companion freaking out. We need affection and understanding, not judgement and humiliation.
If you tell him the way you heard it he will most likely overreact about the entire situation.

The verb 'overact' is to behave in an exaggerated manner; to overplay. The verb 'overreact' is to respond to something more than is appropriate.
overreact
yes, even over the smallest things
Parents may overreact due to their deep concern for their children's well-being and safety. They may also be influenced by their own experiences, fears, and emotions, causing them to react more intensely in certain situations. It's important for parents to communicate openly with their children and find balance in their reactions to avoid overreacting.
Overreacted is a verb. It's the past tense of overreact.
