Why do people loose trust?

Most people have been hurt, used, manipulated, or taken advantage of, at some point in their lives. So, they are always on the look out for people who will do them wrong. And when someone has done us wrong, they have showed characteristics in their personality about who they are. Once this part of a character is displayed, then it is hard for people to believe that that was not the true person showing it. It is hard to trust that that type of behavior would not be an ongoing thing. And not just a one time thing.

People lose trust if they have been betrayed, or feel that in a way they have been. Or if they have been hurt by that person, intentionally or unintentionally.
But the main reason is due to betrayal.
Its like for example, finding out that your friend was talking behind you back.
it may not be true but yet you cant help but lose the trust of that friend.
its like a seed of new thought has been planted into your brain knowing that it is possible that they can betray you like that.
and that's when trust is lost.
