Why do some boys tell you they love you while they have a girlfriend but isn't a player?

Sometimes it's so that they always have a back-up girl when he's currently not cheating. It's usually to use girls, either for sex or to keep his reputation up by being seen with you. Sometimes they cheat on you and when the other girl dumps him he can always go back to you so that he's not seen single. It's mostly for reputation or sex.

When a girl says she loves you but she has a boyfriend it can mean 1 out of 3 things.

1. She could be saying she loves you in the sense that you are a very good friend to her and you mean a lot to her in a friendship way.

2. She is thinking about leaving her boyfriend for you. Don't get your hopes up she obviously is still weighing her options which is why she is still going out with her current boyfriend. If you love her as well this is the time to tell her whether she means friendship or relationship.

3. She is having some trouble with her boyfriend and is looking for an escape with someone else while things cool down. Try to make her feel better if she seems upset. All she really needs is a shoulder to cry on if this is the case.
