In biological terms, we human beings are programmed by our evolutionary history to have sexual relationships and to engage in sexual reproduction, and although this programming can be altered to some degree, it always shows up in some form. People who do not have healthy relationships will usually wind up with unhealthy relationships. So there is some element of risk involved in being socially isolated and without a relationship. Of course, you should not allow yourself to be pressured into any relationship that you do not like. However, if you can find a successful relationship it will definitely enrich your life and will be good for your mental health and happiness.
