Westerners are no different to other cultures families. The family consists of parents and their children and perhaps grandparents. They are a close knit group, each depending upon the other.

There can also be another nuclear family, this comes about by the time frame we live in. We who live now, today are all part of a nuclear family by the technology which surrounds us. We may or may not like it as it is something which has crept up upon us over the years, now we accept it as a normal way of living.
