Building relationships involve risk on a variety of levels. When you are first getting to know the person, there is the risk of not getting along with them. When you are trying to be a persons friend, they might accidentally snub or offend you. If you are trying to create a romantic relationship with someone, there is the risk of rejection. But at the heart of it all, is the fact that everything in live involves risk, and that it is better to have loved and lost than to have not loved at all.
