Why is my mum so nasty to me?

Coming from an 11year old child myself your mum isn't nasty to you she just wants to look after you and sometimes you just have to get on with it when she goes off on one . Play some games, help her out and she'll be the mum you've always wanted. Take my advice.

There could be a number of reasons and explanations. More than likely she was abused too. It doesn't make it right, but she never resolved the pain her own parents caused, so she takes it out on others.

Sometimes mental illnesses or at least bad beliefs are part of the problem with abusive parents. They may think the child is deliberately disobeying or otherwise out to get them.

Sometimes guilt around the circumstances of their child's birth plays into it. They might not be able to forgive themselves for a perceived "moral transgression" and project it onto the child. One mother had a child by her son and she hated the resulting daughter. To the mom, the girl was just sick, a "curse," in the way, and a constant reminder of what she did to her son.

Sometimes the mother hates the father of the child and takes it out on the child. The child usually knows that, since the first thing that the mom usually says in that case is, "You are just like your father."
