Why should marriage be for life?

Marriage is a physical union whereby The Bible informs that two are made one. This is a grreat mystery we are told but it is the way God recognizes it. For instance If one were to melt gold and then silver and then combine the two most throughly so to make the two metals one, the metals are said to be married. When a physical union occurs the same thing happens on a spiritual basis. A marriage ceremoney is necessary to obey the laws of the land, which the bible teaches us so to do. The ceremony is the official and memorial of the comming union. The ceremonoey marries two in the site of man, the physical union in the site of God. Now, all conubial activity outside the bonds of matrimony is called fornication or adultry, depending on whether another married person is involved. Fornication is a very sore point with God. He declares that every sin a man commits is outside the body, save the sin of fornication, when one commits fornication that one sins against their own body. Man may not hold one accountable but God does. He declares your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, a temple, and if one defiles the temple(grossness and ungodly activity) that one will God destroy. God is not slack concerning his promises. Free realtionships are hardly frown upon in this world anymore but make no mistake, if one sows to the flesh, that one will of the flesh reap corrupion. extramarital relationships are like this, "a man is tempted when he is led away of his own lust and entice, lust when it is finished bringeth forth sin and sin when it is finished, bringeth forth death. Marriage is only important if the person thinks its important....

Marriage for some is very important for religious/personal reasons and to others marriage is of no importance at all.....

In the USA marriage(by the state) is nothing more than a civil contract that both people agree to enter into which grants them certain legal benefits not available to those who are not married(by the state) such as tax deductions, equal rights to any marital property they aquire and several other things not available to the unmarried....

The civil contract of marriage(by the state) can also be difficult and even costly to disolve depending on state laws,even if your spouse never worked during the marriage and had no income at all they could be entitled to 50% of all the assests even though they never paid for one single item,they may also after a period of years be entitled to 30%-50% of your pension,IRA's,401K's ect even though they never worked and contributed to retirement...they may also be entitled to get spousal support/alimony and then you still have to pay for them to sit home....

Hence why now a days you see more and more couples living together or getting married in a religious manor rather than getting married(by the state)....

people do not have to get married, it used to be "politically correct" to get married and start a family but more and more people today are choosing not to get married but instead make a verbal promis to each other, some people don't get married because they can not afford it, and some don't believe in marriage. You should talk it over with your spouse on what you both feel and decided on.

To get married is because you love someone deeply and you want to plan your life together and dream of your future together. It's about sharing; hard work; honesty and loyalty and depending on the one person in the world you can count on. It's a gauntlet of courage to make a marriage work and stay married and in this new generation some couples prefer to live together or not commit to each other at all. Unfortunately, this means that without commitment they will not get the joy of complete love and devotion or find a great accomplishment in their life. Divorces are at a higher rate than ever, but once studied it is because the generation of today is spoiled; it's a 'me society' and some people want things to fall into place without trying.

Well marriage is a beautiful institution, based on the foundation of love. We fall in love once and get married once in lifetime. I dont understand how people can fake love and marriage. A coworker who once told me that her marriage is over because her husband is after some girl, was in love with the guy since four years. The guy was after this girl without the girl's knowledge.

The bible says a man who finds a wife finds a good thing. A wife can help her husband with things that he can not do alone.
