Contrasting worlds and motif are not the same thing in literature. Contrasting worlds refer to different settings or environments within a story that are juxtaposed against each other, while a motif is a recurring element, theme, or image that holds symbolic significance throughout a work. While a motif can be used to emphasize contrasting worlds, they are distinct literary devices.
Basically the same thing. Motif is the reason for the work and the theme is what the creator wants you to get out of it.
As a motif in literature, the 'outcast' has -- in the Western Tradition, in particular -- been used to represent different roles and powers in human life and in nature. For one thing, the outcast is very often portrayed as more in touch with superhuman patterns and meanings than conventional humans can be. For another thing, and by contrast, the outcast has been portrayed as a diminished human being, one who, stripped of the supports and comforts of human society, has fallen into a lesser state of existence.
The most important thing to look for in understanding the motif of a story is its recurring theme or idea that holds symbolic significance throughout the narrative. By identifying and analyzing the motif, you can gain deeper insight into the underlying message or purpose of the story.
A motif is a thing that reoccurs in a book or any other piece of literature. Blood used widely in this particular book, where it is a describer of certain elements or is stated objectively. Meaning, blood is drawn between Grady and Alejandra's lovemaking as well as present in certain deaths or hard times that are coming to their climax.

Contrasting color and complimentary color mean the same thing. Blue and Orange are contrasting as are red and green. On an artists color wheel six colors are arranged in a circle, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet. Colors opposite each other on the color wheel are contrasting or complimentary.
Some recurrent 'thing' that can define a piece of literature as a certain type. This 'thing' can be anything: setting, character, narration, plot, theme, writing style. For example horses, cattle, deserts, scrub land, ten galleon hats, Victorian style dresses, savages, dirt poverty and lots of guns is a western motif.
Currently, there is no such thing as mechquest worlds. I don`t think there ever will be.
