An open ended question just means that it is a question that you can't answer with one word... like "yes" or "no," or someone's name. Something that requires thought, and probably at least a sentence to answer. So, think about some of the themes in To Kill a Mockingbird, like Slavery for instance. You could ask 'Was slavery an issue during the historical time period of the novel?' ... but that would be closed-ended, since you can answer it with one word... so try changing it into an open-ended question. Something like "How did slavery affect each of the characters in To Kill a Mockingbird?" ... this question you definitely can't answer with one word. You have to think about it, and go through a bunch of characters to come up with an answer. :) Anyway, try that. Think of some questions about the book, and then if you can answer them with one word, change them around a little until you can't answer them with one word.

The site gets a lot of questions. Some are not complete thoughts, others are not questions but statements. There are questions that are just silly and not worth an answer while some are inappropriate or obscene. If you write a question that can be answered someone will eventually answer it.
