In the movie it was only the crows, gulls, and local birds attacking the townsfolk, while in the book there were Birds of Prey as well as the local birds attacking. In both the movie and the story, the birds attacked people. There were also a few differences between the birds in the movie and the birds in the book. There are also quite a few differences concerning the characters.
