Good writers revise and edit. Professional writers constantly think of better ways to say things, or try different methods of doing a scene. Writers who don't edit and revise are lazy writers who probably never sell their work.

Some writers write from home but some writers may just write down some notes when a great idea or thought comes to their mind, thus quick notes anywhere really are quite fine. I wrote a book from home but took a note book everywhere with me for when I had good idea or thought to write about.
