One good way to keep track of your scenes is to write one scene onto each of a set of index cards. Thumbtack the cards to a corkboard so that you can see at a glance what scenes fit together, and what needs to happen first.

You can also just draw out a timeline, and list each scene at the appropriate point on the line. Some authors use computer software to keep track of their scenes.
