I'm not sure if this is the right answer but i pretty sure!! Candy gets the confidence to argue with curlely's wife because he doesn't' like how she is treating Crook. Candy also tells her that if she dares opens her mouth to have Crook hang that he will stand up to her and tell every one that it not true.
Candy
Candy
Candy uses the word tart to describe curleys wife
He thinks she's a flirt
lennie , george , candy , slim , curley , curleys wife , crooks , and more
Candy explains that Curley seems to have a Napoleon complex, where he overcompensates for his small stature by being aggressive and bullying others, especially bigger men like Lennie. Candy also mentions that Curley's wife may play a role in his behavior, as her flirtatious nature makes him insecure and paranoid.
Candy asked George if they were still going to get their own place now that Curley's wife was dead. He was worried about their dream and what would happen next.
im pretty sure that candy finds curley's wife when Lennie broke her neck
Curley's wife died, so now Lennie will be in trouble and then their dream of the farm will be no more. Candy therefor won't be able to work on the farm with George and Lennie.
He asks candy to act like he has no idea about what happened to curleys wife, so they don't think he was in on it
Candy fears the dream farm won't come true.
