i don't know either, i personally found it utterly boring and found no significance in plot, theme or how it was written.
Actually, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is a very important piece of American literature. It describes what life was like in the past and how different things were, but in the point of view of a 12 year old boy, Tom Sawyer. Tom is a very creative character who goes on many adventures and gets himself in heaps of trouble. It's a great adventure book that many people appreciate. It's important because its so well written and has a great sense of humour to it. Tom (the character) is also very important because he is a boy like all the others at the time. He's full of adventure and mischief, but still has a strong conscience. Hope this helped :)
