AnswerNo, but it is the favourite book of the British (and not merely women) and it is widely appreciated by both critics and fans throughout the world. I have read it at east 15 times and every time it is as if I were seeing an old friend whom I have missed. Some of the British screen adaptations (mainly the 1995 one, of course) have largely added to its fame and appeal. Last but not least, it is extremely well-written, whereas the beginning of "Sense and Sensibility" has several flaws (in my opinion). \ AnswerNo. There are many better books.
