I just finished watching a Nat Geo program on this and they really don't know where Atlantis is located. Several historians are working on it and have several locations that fit, but no one is sure. The most interesting location in the program was in Spain and is now a marsh. They think that the city was flooded by a tidal wave and they do know under the ground today are structures in this location. Everything else seems to fit the story as well.

Is alantis a real place?

Atlantis is a legendary island first mentioned by the ancient Greek philosopher Plato in his dialogues "Timaeus" and "Critias." While many theories and speculations have emerged about its possible location, no definitive archaeological evidence has confirmed its existence. Most historians and scholars consider Atlantis to be a myth or allegory rather than a real place. Thus, Atlantis remains a fascinating topic of speculation and imagination rather than a verified historical location.
