Sound Western drama to me, like Last of the Mohicans. It is believed that Mohawk and Mohican are the same tribe. Mohawk division shut down in l972, ran all over upstate NY- it was part of the NY Central system- transportation.

If you mean Patricia Monture-Angus who many call the Mohawk Woman, then she does not write Science Fiction. She is a Canadian woman who writes about the lives of First Nation people in Canada. She is against Canadian laws about her people.
