The book of Job is typically viewed as a piece of ancient literature that addresses profound questions about suffering and faith. While some scholars argue that it could be based on a real person's experiences, the consensus is that it functions more as a parable or allegory to convey its messages about human suffering and the nature of God.
Allegory
Job, in the Book of Job.
The book of Job talks about the relationship between God and Job. It is not prophetic because job was not a prophet, the book is plainly the story of what happened to Job and his relationship with God.
ugh noone cares just get a real job
This is most probably Job. Job's name has entered the English language in the metaphor: "The Patience of Job". His story is in the Old Testament in the Book of Job. If you look him up on Wikipedia you will discover his story and why he was called 'patient'.
The Book of Job is undoubtedly a parable: who could really know what God said to Satan in heaven, or what angry duscussions he had with Job, when his attempts to test Job failed? As there is no possibiliity the story is genuinely historical, there is no possibility Job was a real person. The Job briefly mentioned in Genesis 46:13 as a descendant of Jacob might also have been fictional, since we have no historical evidence for his existence. Whatever the case, the Bible makes no attempt to link the two men. We should see them as two different people.

Job
The story of Job being eaten by a whale does not appear in the Bible. Job is the central character in the Book of Job, which focuses on his suffering and faithfulness to God. The account of a prophet being swallowed by a great fish or whale is found in the Book of Jonah, not Job.
