I am a fan of the Harry Potter series. They are on a 6th-8th grade reading level, I believe. They are good books if you like adventure, and the magical-themed type of books. (Author J. K. Rowling)
Another series is the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, by Rick Riordan. He then made another series with almost all the same characters called the Heroes of Olympus.
