In V for vendetta you see a masked vigilante proactively fighting to destroy the totalitarian fascist government that is in charge. in 1984 you see a more indirect attempt if you will to bring down the government. in the earlier half, Winston and Julia and simply rebelling by meeting up and having sex and strengthening their love for one another. basically, v's character plays out a more violent, "i will kill you" type of thing.
