Well, it first starts off as Adam doing his daily chores. He then talks to his father..... and his father makes Adam get the evening water for his grandmother. After giving the water to his mother, he goes to his grandmother and talks to her about Moses (the father) and other things.... THey then eat a meal. After a disappointing prayer from the father, they eat Mrs. Cooper's famous donkers. Then, Cousin Simmons comes and joins. He then leaves with Moses to a meeting. Adam wants to go, but his father wont let him. So Adam asks his mother why his father hates him so much.
At the meeting, they talk about the red coats coming to Lexington. Because of the huge number of British soldiers, the people don't know whether to fight or not. They decide to fight only if needed, but mostly talk to get peace. Moses then returns home and talks with his wife about how Adam thinks Moses hates him even though he actually loves him very much.
Later, a man comes and says that the British are coming. So, they have another meeting where the have a muster to let men sign up to go against the British. Adam sees this as an opportunity to show Moses that he is a man now, and signs up. Adam comes home to his brother Levi, cleaning his..rifle?..i think. Then they get ready to go to the greens to fight.AFter the British arrive, they talk a bit. Then someone "accidentaly" shoots, and a fight starts. Moses is among the first to get shot. ADam runs into a shed, where he hides for the rest of the fight. Ruth, his girlfriend, finds him and calms Adam down. Adam then leaves the shed, and is chased by two British soldiers. Then, the Chandler dude finds Adam, and then takes Adam to safety. OH! and before that, Chandler and ADam talk about Moses, and his death. OK. Going on now! They go to a kind of camp site for all the colonists. THey decide to go together and chase the British while the British march to Concord. With some ambushes, The colonists practically win. Adam cannot take war no longer. So he goes home. He then becomes the man of the house. :) TA DA. haha. I just kinds quick-read this book, and I wathced the movie. I HIGHLY recommend watching the movie. It's a lot quicker and easier to understand. I went on Netflix.com and used the 1 month free trial to watch it. Hehe. there is no chapter seven Instead of chapters, there are parts of day. It starts at midday, and goes on to evening, then night, and so on. Chapter 7 would be the second afternoon, which I dont think exists.
