Romeo's love for Rosaline is superficial and conventional. His love for Juliet is real. With Rosaline he is playing the game of the male lover dying of love because the female is refusing him, in the hopes that he will eventually wear her down and get some nookie. With Juliet, he has committed his life to her service, and will act only for her benefit, and if she is dead he will no longer have a reason to live. That's real love.
The famous piece from Tchaikovsky's "Romeo and Juliet" used in The Sims is the "Love Theme." This sweeping, romantic melody captures the essence of the tragic love story and has become iconic in various adaptations. Its emotive quality adds a poignant touch to the gameplay experience, enhancing moments of romance and drama within the game.
In Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet," the Nurse recounts two anecdotes about Juliet as a toddler. One story involves Juliet falling and the Nurse playfully recalling how she nursed her back to health, emphasizing their close bond. The second story highlights a moment when Juliet, at a young age, expressed her feelings during a game, showcasing her innocence and playful nature. These tales not only reveal the Nurse's affection for Juliet but also provide insight into Juliet's character as a child.
What she says is that he shouldn't swear by the moon because the moon changes (waxes and wanes over a month) and she does not want Romeo's love to be that inconstant. What she really means is that Romeo should not swear at all. Part of the game of love, the flirting game of the time, the game which Romeo was playing with Rosaline, was that the male should profess his love, as Ophelia says in Hamlet "with almost all the holy vows of heaven." Her cynical father says, "Ay, springes to catch woodcocks". The lover makes these vows but they cannot be trusted; they are pure hooey, designed to trap the female and induce her to let down her equally put-on aloofness. Juliet knows this. "Yet if thou swear'st, thou may'st prove false; at lover's perjuries, they say Jove laughs." Her position is awkward. She has been caught unawares with her emotions in full view. She cannot now put on the pretence of aloofness which is the female part of the game. She is not playing a game now, and she wants Romeo to cut the BS and talk to her in the same way. At some point all lovers must stand before each other naked, with no clothes to hide who they are physically. They must also be emotionally naked. Juliet has reached that stage, and she is asking Romeo, if he loves her, to take off his emotional clothing, such as swearing by the moon, and appear before her as he is.
First, they discover that they are quick wits, playing the "pilgrim" game, and the "let's talk in sonnet form" game. Shortly after they discover that they are good kissers ("You kiss by the book!"). And later they find out what each others' last name is, to their several dismays.

The mood in the beginning of Act 3 Scene 1 is very sarcastic then turns to challenging and anger. When Romeo turns down the fight and Mercutio accepts it, its like a game. But when Mercutio is killed, the atmosphere turns into more of a serious and violent type. The mood is mostly heightened when Tybalt dies and Romeo realises what hes done.
romeo is unhappy because he is in love with a woman named rosaline who does not return his love. (This is before he meets Juliet and falls in love with her!) This is why Benvolio suggests that they go crash the Capulate ball, so that romeo can get over Rosaline and meet someone new. hope this helps! xxx
