The ghost of Christmas past
Scrooge saw a bright, shining light coming from the Ghost of Christmas Past, who was waiting to take him on a journey through his past memories.
IN Stave one he is in shock to see what he though was Marleys face appear on the brass door knocker. This was the starting point for what was to come. In the stave 5 Scrooge checks the knocker does not change meaning Marley was not coming back to haunt him
Scrooge says "Remove me" to the spirit at the end of Stave 2 because he becomes overwhelmed by the visions and memories that the spirit shows him. He cannot bear to see the pain and loneliness of his past, which make him feel vulnerable and exposed. Scrooge's reaction also shows his fear of confronting the truths about his own life and choices.
In stave 2 we see Scrooge with the ghost of Chrsitmas Past visit his old school. here we find a "lonely boy". The boy is in fact Scrooge who was left at the school continually from a very young age never to visit home. here Scrroges memories of being so lonely are found and he refers to the boy as "the poor poor boy". We see now that even at Christmas Scrooge is lonely and has to build a world of make believe from his books ato allow him to cope
The ghost that visits Scrooge in Stave 4 of A Christmas Carol is the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come, also known as the Ghost of Christmas Future. This ghost shows Scrooge glimpses of his own potential future and the consequences of his actions.
In Stave 3 of "A Christmas Carol," the Spirit of Christmas Present takes Scrooge on a journey around London to witness how people are celebrating Christmas. Scrooge starts to feel a sense of joy and compassion as he sees the happiness of others and begins to understand the true spirit of the holiday season.
In Stave 5, Scrooge wanted to see if he had truly changed and could make amends for his past actions. He wanted to experience redemption and a second chance to live a better life. Ultimately, he wanted to bring joy and happiness to others by showing kindness and generosity.
Stave 3 sees the Ghost of Christmas Present take Scrooge across the 12 days of Christmas to see and experience how others, especially those less fortunate celebrate and give thanks for the little they have
Scrooge hopes to see himself
Scrooge concludes that none of the things he saw in the future had happened yet. In the future, someone sold his bed curtains after he died. Because his bed curtains were still there, he hadn't died yet.

Scrooge's conscience first began to bother him when he was visited by the ghost of his former business partner, Jacob Marley, who warned him of the consequences of his greed and selfishness and foretold the arrival of three spirits to show him the error of his ways.
