Friar- derived from Frater- Brother is a term associated primarily with the Franciscan order in the Catholic Church. It is applied to both lay brothers and Priests, of course the priests are also styled Padre- Father. The Franciscans sometimes call the equivalent of a parsonage or rectory- housing for clergy a Friary.
